I got into this through networking, not a bootcamp.
Melbourne-based, currently completing a Bachelor of IT (Professional) at RMIT, specialising in cloud computing and software engineering.
Networking and infrastructure came before web development for me — a Diploma in Cloud Engineering and CCNA-level networking, then an Associate Degree in IT, completed with Distinction and a place on RMIT's Vice-Chancellor's List. Cloud computing followed naturally from there. These days I split my time between coursework in cloud infrastructure and security, and freelance web development for small clients.
I hold a Tech Ignite Scholarship, which includes a one-year internship at Pepperstone starting in 2027. It's a large part of why I care about building things that hold up under real use rather than just in a demo — and the freelance work keeps that instinct grounded: client sites have to actually work, on a deadline, for people who won't read documentation.
On the freelance side I build with Laravel, TailwindCSS, and MySQL — full applications with authentication and role-based access, not just landing pages. If a project needs a system built rather than a template customised, or needs help getting onto AWS, that's the work I take on.
